The Greater Cincinnati GCSA is pleased to offer the following scholarships on an annual basis:

  • Howard Dammel Scholarship - awarded to the most deserving turf student applicant
  • Marion Mendenhall Scholarship - awarded to the most academically deserving applicant that is a son/daughter of a Greater Cincinnati GCSA member
  • Charlie Tadge Service Award Scholarship - awarded to the most community service driven applicant that is a son/daughter of a Greater Cincinnati GCSA member

The deadline to complete and return your application is May 15th. The application MUST BE RECEIVED BY MAY 15th. Applications received after the deadline WILL NOT be considered.

2017 Scholarship Recipients:

Justin Kelley - Charlie Tadge Service Award

Justin is a senior at Lakota West High School and will be attending Ohio University in the fall to major in Finance. Justin has been deeply involved with the Youth in Foundation organization since freshman year and has consistently been in leadership roles as part of the Executive Board. Justin has also been a part of many other organizations including Student Government, Model UN and has been a Teen Ambassador for the Ohio State Attorney General's Office. 

Abigail Baughan - Marion Mendenhall Scholarship

Abigail is in her second year at Ohio University majoring in Journalism Strategic Communication. She is currently working for the Voinovich School of Leadership & Public Affairs as a Communication Assistant. Previously she has interned at various places such as the TODAY Show asa Production Intern. Abigail is also heavily involved in service and has won multiple awards such as the Jefferson Community Service Award. 

Emma Dierkers - Marion Mendenhall Scholarship

Emma is starting her second year at The Ohio State University majoring in Accounting and Logistics with a minor in Korean. Emma has been devoted to moving ahead in her academics and has just recently got back from a month long study abroad trip in Hamburg, Germany. She has also taken up new leadership positions in college and is the Treasurer for the Korean Student Association and the Philanthropy Chair for PPiNK, a refugee organization. 

Kinsey Brown - Howard Dammel Scholarship

Kinsey Brown is a 4.0 student in the Turfgrass Management Technologies program at Cincinnati State. After working in social work for nearly five years, she decided to switch career paths and go into Turfgrass Management to work on golf courses. Kinsey is exceptionally grateful for the opportunity this scholarship allows.
