March Presidents Message

11 Mar 2024 4:01 PM | Dave Miller (Administrator)

While the calendar still says winter many of us are actively seeing large amounts of play like it’s springtime! We are mowing, doing course set up and already prepping for the season, the winter didn’t yield many cold days and fortunately or unfortunately the snow never did arrive with any substance.

As we look ahead to our schedule for 2024, we must first start by looking back on last week’s education event hosted by Blue Ash Golf Course. Many thanks to Scott Kincaid and the staff at Cooper Creek, they have a wonderful facility, and it was a treat for us to be there. We appreciate the talented speakers who joined us from OSU campuses and a great insight into the new maintenance facility being constructed at Blue Ash. Looking ahead we have a fun filled event in March, followed up with our first golf event of the season at Wyoming Country Club.  We then will have our annual scholarship tournament at Heatherwoode Golf Club, wrapping up the golf season with our Superintendents Championship at Kenton County Golf Courses.

The one season long event that is returning for 2024 is the Legacy Cup, formerly known as the Fanning Cup, we have taken it and named it in honor of our past GCGCSA members. There are more details to follow and the sign ups coming soon, the blind draw will be held at our social event on 3/21.

Lastly, without the sponsorship of our vendors many of the education events and privileges we have wouldn’t be possible, we thank them for all the past years of contributions, and we look forward to them continuing. We want to recognize the below sponsors for the education event at Blue Ash (Better Billy Bunker, Husqvarna, Site One, BASF, and Aspen).

Looking forward to an exceptional year for the GCGCSA and good luck to all those in your spring endeavors!
