    Kenwood Country Club is looking for a self -motivated person to fill a Horticulturist position. The proper candidate will be tasked with designing and maintaining extensive Annual Displays, Club House Landscaping, along with some golf course maintenance.

    Job Requirements: · Have or is actively pursuing a 2 or 4-year degree in Horticulture or with 3 years of professional experience in horticulture or closely related field. · Valid Driver’s License. · Possess or obtain a Ohio Pesticide applicator’s license within 90 days. · Motivated self-starter who has an eye for details. · Develop and implement standard operating procedures for landscape management. · Can work in all weather conditions. · Flexible work schedule—work weekends and holidays as needed. · Operation of power equipment and heavy machinery if needed. · Some Spanish preferred but not required. Responsible for: · General maintenance of all clubhouse lawns and landscapes. · Planting of substantial Annual display · Overseeing and monitoring crew performance. · Color change out and flowerbed maintenance. · Irrigation scheduling and proper hand watering practices for supplemental water. · Proper application, timing and record keeping of fertilizer and chemicals. · Budgeting and purchasing plant materials, fertilizers, tools and chemicals

    Hyde Park Golf and Country Club, Cincinnati Ohio

    Hyde Park Golf and Country Club is a Donald Ross Design private facility established in 1909 located in Cincinnati. The membership, over the past decade has invested in the infrastructure of the golf course and grounds with a new irrigation system, green drainage, bunker reconstruction, tee renovations and cart path enhancements. Recently, a facilities renovation including: golf practice area, pool, multiple structures and rackets facility.     The Assistant-in-Training will collaborate with both Assistants and

    Grounds Superintendent on a daily basis with all facets of Golf Course and Turfgrass

    Management including, but not limited to:

    • Team leadership and task management of 20 team members
    • Mentoring of Turfgrass Interns
    •  Moisture management, irrigation repair and scheduling
    • Project management
    • Assisting in budget and program development
    • Application of pesticides and fertilizers
    • Membership updates
    • Attendance of Grounds Committee meetings
    • Vendor relations
    • Data collection
