The Hamilton Elks Golf Club is seeking an accomplished golf course superintendent to manage and oversee a 27-hole private facility with an original Donald Ross design (1925) and additional 9 holes completed in (1995) by Michael Hurdzan. The Golf Course Superintendent is expected to provide quality leadership and will lead and manage their department to ensure superb golf course conditioning on a daily basis. The Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Hamilton Elks Golf Club and grounds. The club has an Elks membership of over 950 members, 265 of which are golf members and plays 30,000+ rounds of golf annually.

The facility hosts approximately 2,000 event/outing rounds along with numerous club events, championships and is open on Mondays.

The club has full practice facilities including 270yd. range (27,000 sqft teeing area)with a hybrid bluegrass tee, target greens, a newly constructed 50 yard short-game area and two putting greens.

The golf course has bentgrass fairways, tees and greens and approximately 60 bunkers.

The club is in the early stages of tee, bunker and green renovations.

The original 18 holes plays 6,467yds, the new nine plays 3,303yds with three teeing areas.
Professional Skills, Requirements and Responsibilities

The candidate is responsible for the maintenance, operation and management of the golf course and surrounding clubhouse grounds.

The position requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience as a golf course superintendent.
Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, established maintenance expectations and directs the staff on daily job duties and tasks.

Develops weekly operational plans and works closely with the Director of Golf on events and projects.

Experience in developing plans for the golf course, bunker renovation and complete the current renovation of one of our golf holes.

Performs all job duties, establishes and maintains all records required by State and Local Governments.

Oversees and maintains all maintenance equipment and buildings.

Renders professional advice, opinions and assistance when needed on all golf course concerns.

Responsible for annual budgeting, capital improvements, Long-range planning and equipment purchasing.

Works in conjuntion and cooperation with the Director of Golf and Board of Trustees. Plans all maintenance and project work, applying agronomic and administrative expertise to achieve the agreed upon maintenance standards.

Responsible for all maintenance purchases, exercises cost controls to stay within approved budgets and responsible for inventory control.

Continuing strives to improve the turf and playing conditions that is expected at our club.

The candidate must have a thorough understanding of the rules and game of golf.

Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of current Federal, State and Local laws and regulations; which includes but not limited to employment, safety and environmental standards.

Must possess Certified Applicators License or the ability to obtain one.

Possess the computer skills to operate our irrigation system with sound water management philosophies. We are currently in the middle of our irrigation pump replacement program.

Strong observational skills, detail oriented and highly organized.
