Superintendent at Harmon Golf Club
Harmon Golf Club is a public, 9 hole facility located just outside of Downtown Lebanon, Ohio. Currently, Harmon is operated by Southwest Golf Management, a local, family-owned business that also operates the Southwest Golf Ranch and Majestic Springs Golf Club. The Southwest Golf Ranch was recently recognized as a Top 50 National Practice Facility and Majestic Springs Golf Club was also recognized as a Top 10 Public Golf Course in the State of Ohio. Striving to offer the best quality golf experience for our golfers, we constantly make improvements at all 3 of our facilities and foster a team environment. In the past few years, we have re-wired the irrigation system and installed a paver patio outside the clubhouse.
Position Summary:
The Golf Course Superintendent position is a perfect fit for an assistant that would like to become a head superintendent or a retiring/retired superintendent that would like a flexible schedule. The Superintendent is responsible for ensuring the best conditions possible on the golf course. Working closely with the general manager, the candidate must possess a positive attitude, problem solving, strong work ethic, strong communication skills and great attention to detail. As long as the candidate possesses these attributes, other team members can help out when necessary. This includes, but isn’t limited to equipment maintenance, managing the grounds crew, spraying chemicals and assistance with larger projects.
Qualification & Experience:
-
3+ years of golf course maintenance (required)

Must be highly organized and clean with great attention to detail (required)

Must have strong communication skills (required)

Must have a basic understanding of golf etiquette and rules (preferred)

Supervisor experience (preferred)
Position Responsibilities:
-
Above all else - be a vital part of a team environment and communicate effectively

Assure all tasks and projects on the course are completed to specifications

Maintain equipment
-
Maintain maintenance recordkeeping

Manage a small grounds crew team of ~4-6 employees

Meet with the general manager weekly and provide updates as the season progresses

Periodically prepare expense reports when requested

Oversee all outdoor maintenance projects

Recognize characteristics and initiates proper treatment of chemicals when applicable

Works closely with general manager and former superintendent

Good equipment and access to anything you may need across our 3 facilities, including larger machinery (e.g. bobcats, excavators, etc.)
